Technological features of the Lithuanian Diplomatic Passport

DIPLOMATIC PASSPORT DESIGN

The main distinguishing feature of a Diplomatic passport (hereinafter – the passport) is the blue color of the cover. The motifs of the design of the inner pages of the diplomatic passport reflect the national and ethnic information of the State of Lithuania.

The Passport contains 32 numbered pages and a personal data sheet made of polycarbonate with a laser device engraved with personal data, a facial image and a signature. The Passport incorporates state-of-the-art technology to protect the document from forgery or falsification and to speed up the verification process.

COVER

The cover of passport is made of leather-like material.
The front cover bears the Coat of Arms of the Republic of Lithuania, the Lithuanian text “EUROPOS SĄJUNGA”, “LIETUVOS RESPUBLIKA” and the name of the respective passport “DIPLOMATINIS PASAS“, e-passport symbol, all embossed in gold.

Gravure printing
Gravure printed ornament.

Latent Image
The letters "LTU" appear when the passport is tilted at an angle.

Optically variable ink
The design element is printed with optically variable inks that change color when viewed from a different angle.

Passport Number
The eight-digit passport number is printed in embossing, variable-size digits, black ink that glows green under UV light.

Microtext
Repetitive microtext "REPUBLIC OF LITHUANIA".

The legend is offset.

Laser Engraving
Face image, signature, inscriptions are laser engraved.

Rainbow Printing
Three-color safety nets, two of which are printed in rainbow.

Electronic Chip
Passport integrates a non-contact electronic medium in which personal data is recorded, as well as a person's facial image and fingerprints.

Kinegrama
Transparent diffractive optical element with a kinematic effect, partially covering the photo (coat of arms of the Republic of Lithuania, words "LIETUVOS RESPUBLIKA", "LTU").

Special line layout
Guilloche strips formed from double lines of different thicknesses.

Microtext
Repetitive microtexts: positive - "REPUBLIC OF LITHUANIA", negative - "LTU".

Optically variable ink
A design element printed with optically variable inks that change color when viewed from a different angle.

Multiple Laser Imaging
The repeated facial image transforms to the person's date of birth when the passport is tilted.

Ultraviolet Inks
A design element printed in invisible ink glows in UV light.

Page Relief
The page relief is formed by positive (raised) and negative (concave) embossing.

INSIDE PAGES

In the background of the passport page - famous places in Lithuania (different on each page).

Paper
The paper contains invisible fibers that glow yellow, green, and red under UV light.

Rainbow Printing
Three-color safety nets, two of which are printed in rainbow printing. One of the colors glows in UV light.

Watermark
Multi-tone fixed Vytis. One-page page numbers.

Passport Number
An eight-digit passport number is laser-perforated on all inside pages and on the back cover.

Special line layout
Guilloche strips formed from double lines of different thicknesses.

Stitching thread
The passport is sewn with a seam with return stitches. The thread consists of three colors (green, red, yellow) of fibers that glow green under UV light.

Match mark
Overlap sign and microtext "REPUBLIC OF LITHUANIA".

Security thread
Security thread with inverted and inverted microtext "LIETUVOS RESPUBLIKA", which glows red, green and yellow in UV light.

Marked passport edge
International code of the Republic of Lithuania "LTU", symbol - Gediminas columns.

Ultraviolet Inks
Design element printed in invisible ink, one part glowing green in UV light and the other part glowing yellow and orange.
