From 2020 September 17 Identity Documents Personalisation Centre under the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Lithuania has started issuing a new form of Residence Permits in the Republic of Lithuania.
The form of these permits was approved in 2017. October 25 Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council laying down a uniform format for residence permits for third-country nationals.
The new generation of Residence Permits is even safer and meets the requirements set by the European Commission in 2018. November 30 an implementing decision laying down uniform technical specifications for the format of residence permits for third-country nationals.
Temporary Residence Permit in the Republic of Lithuania
Temporary Residence Permit in the Republic of Lithuania – a document granting an alien the right to temporarily reside in the Republic of Lithuania for the period specified therein.
The card has an integrated non-contact electronic medium that stores personal data, as well as a personal face image and fingerprints.
Residence Card of a Family Member of a Union Citizen – a document granting a family member of a citizen of a Member State of the European Union who is not a citizen of a Member State of the European Union the right of temporary residence in the Republic of Lithuania.
Under the European Parliament and Council Regulation (EU) 2019/1157 on identity cards and citizens of the Union and for the citizens of the Union and their family members who use the right of free movement, the right to reside the security of the document security, Article 7, point 2, from 2021, August 2 the name of a family member of a family member of the Union citizen card, which gives the right to temporary residence in the Republic of Lithuania changes to the „LEIDIMO GYVENTI ŠALYJE KORTELĖ“ ("RESIDENCE CARD").

Permanent Residence Permit in the Republic of Lithuania
Permit of a Long-term Resident of the Republic of Lithuania to Reside in the European Union – a document granting an alien the right to reside in the Republic of Lithuania and confirming the alien's permanent resident status.

Residence Card of a Family Member of a Union Citizen – a document granting a family member of a citizen of a Member State of the European Union who is not a citizen of a Member State of the European Union the right of long-term residence in the Republic of Lithuania.
